Torry Mitchell, Preseason woes

Recently we learned our favorite rookie forward last season Torry Mitchell will be out 6 to 8 weeks due to a broken leg he sustained in training camp. He will be missed at the beginning of the season for his enthusiasm and motivation he provides for the team.

Preseason has been fun so far. There's been some close wins, close losses, blowouts, and more. Its been fun, and we must remember it is the rookies getting the look and the intense action. So we have nothing to worry about.

Training camp, rookie games, Jeff Friesen?

The San Jose Sharks rookies opened their training camp today with the veterans starting on September 20th. Rumors say they have invited the normal crew of AHL hopefuls, and our dear alumni Jeff Friesen. While the rumors havn't been substantiated, I would have to lean towards them being true as Friesen did not play last season and who better to give him a shot then his former team. On top of that the sharks could receive yet another experienced player who has won the cup.

The rookies got their start this week in the rookie games, winning the first game, then loosing the second.
